The council of representatives held on 12/7/2012 the fifth session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the council of representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 170 members.
- The first reading of the proposed law of the first amendment for the law of the Board of Supreme Audit No. (31) for the year 2011, submitted by the committees of integrity and legal, that comes after the response of the Federal Supreme Court concerning the unconstitutionality of the first paragraph of article (22) of the law of the Board of Supreme Audit No. (31) for the year 2011.
- The first reading of the proposed law of the first amendment for the law of Integrity Commission No. (30) for the year 2011, submitted by the committees of integrity and legal.
- The first reading of the draft law to cancel the resolutions of the disbanded revolution command council regarding the educational field No. (1117) for the year 1977, (1150) for the year 1978, (1677) for the year 1979, (972) for the year 1982, (1382) for the year 1982, (391) for the year 1983, (945) for the year 1984, (644) for the year 1989, (120) for the year 1992, (124) for the year 1992, (87) for the year 1996, (119) for the year 1998, submitted by the committees of education, higher education and legal.
- The council voted in principle to continue to read the proposed law of the national anthem, submitted by the committee of culture and media after finishing the first reading.
- The second reading of the draft law on accession of the Republic of Iraq to the agreement signed between the League of Arab States and the Government of the United States of Mexico to establish the Mexican fund of the international cooperation for development in 2006, submitted by the committees of foreign relations and economy and investment.
- The council hosted Mr. Rafie Al-Issawi, the minister of finance, and Mr. Ali Al-Shukri, the minister of planning, to discuss the law of infrastructure.
