The council of representatives held on 30/7/2012 the tenth session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the council of representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 204 members.
- The MP Nasreen Anwar read a statement with a large number of the MPs on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Anfal crime passing tomorrow which witnessed extermination of 8 thousand persons in a notorious operation.
- The MP Mohammed Kadhim Al-Hindawi read with a number of the MPs a statement in which he condemned the genocide against the Muslims of Burma in the province of Arakan by the buddhist terrorist groups with the support of the Burmese Government, stressing on the need to denounce and condemn the crime by the Government and the Parliament and provide urgent aids for the refugees and form a delegation from the Parliament and Government of Iraq in order to travel to the refugees camps in Bangladesh.
- The council voted in principle on refusing to continue to read the draft law of Ministry of Municipalities submitted by the committee of service and construction
- The presidency decided to postpone voting on the second amendment proposal for the election law of councils of provinces and districts and sub-districts No.(36) for the year 2008, submitted by the committees of provinces and regions and legal to next Wednesday.
- The council voted to approve a resolution regarding investment in electricity which included calling to establish a private investment commission in the field of electrical power to deal with the companies and to be its work in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and relevant authorities, in addition to give the provinces enough authorities and coordinate with investment commission in order to enhance investment in the electricity field .
- The first reading of the proposed law to cancel the article (40) of the federal budget law for the year 2012, submitted by the committees of legal and financial.
- The MP Salim Abdullah, the head of the human rights committee, read a statement with a number of MPs in which he stressed on that the Iraqis are not a party in the ongoing conflict in Syria, calling in the same time the Iraqis not to be a party in any conflict.
- The first reading of the draft law on the federal supplementary budget of the Republic of Iraq for the financial year 2012, submitted by the committees of financial, legal, economy and investment, which comes in order to approve the general supplementary budget of the Republic of Iraq for the financial year 2012.
- The council hosted Mayor of Baghdad, Mr. Sabir Al-Issawi, and the Governor of Baghdad, Mr. Salah Abdul Razzaq to discuss scarcity of water issue in Baghdad.
