The council of representatives held on 13/9/2012 the twenty-first session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the council of representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 233 members.
- The committee of awqaf and religious affairs read a statement in which it condemned production of film offends to the Messenger (r) by Egyptian Coptic Organization and with the support of an american extremist priest as it's immoral behavior and a blatant transgression on our religion and holy places.
- The council voted to cancel the proposed law to amend the law of Independent Higher Electoral Commission No.(11) for the year 2007, submitted by the legal committee.
- Voting on the draft law of the first amendment for the law of Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs No. (8) for the year 2006, submitted by the committees of labor and social affairs and legal.
- Voting on the draft law of Ministry of Science and Technology submitted by the committees of higher education and legal.
- The MP Ammar Tohme read a statement in which he condemned the offense against Imam Hussein (AS) by one of the officers in the district of Al-Madeena in Al-Basrah province, calling to sack the officer from the Iraqi army and refer him to the judiciary and trial of those involved in opening fire on civilians
- The presidency announced to postpone voting on each of the draft law of Federal Supreme Court and the draft law of Supreme Judicial Council based on a request by the heads of blocs to give more time for discussing them.
- The council of representatives discussed activation of the monitoring role for the council.
