The Council of Representatives held on 6/1/2013 a consultative session under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 161 members.
- Mr. Osama Al-Nujaifi congratulated the Iraqi Army on the occasion of the 92th anniversary of its establishment, calling on sons of the army to protect the homeland and commit the constitution as well as not to interfere in the political affairs.
- The Speaker of the Council of Representatives emphasized in its speech during the consultative session that this session held to put the country in front of a historic turning point waiting by our people to show that we are able to achieve their hopes, pointing that " whatever the demonstrations reasons were, but it's a case of reality that cannot be underestimated."
- Mr. Al-Nujaifi announced recommendations that stress the peaceful demonstrations and not to use any sectarian and ethnic emblems, and the importance of protecting the demonstrators by the security forces and not to comply any orders to suppress them and meet the demands, adding that the Council of Representatives will vote on law of the Federal Court on next Tuesday and law of the general amnesty on next Thursday. |
