The Council of Representatives held on 8/4/2013 the nineteenth session of the second legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 167 members.
- The committee of high education read a statement on the occasion of 33rd anniversary of the martyrdom of the great islamic thinker grand ayatollah Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr and his sister martyr Bint Al-Huda.
- The committee of martyrs, victims and political prisoners read a statement on the occasion of the martyrdom of the thinker and religious authority Seyyid Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr and his sister Amna Bint Al-Huda.
- Mr. Al-Nujaifi indicated that he received an official letter from the government about the hosting of the Prime Minister included an emphasis on setting a date later.
- The Council voted on the draft law on ratification of the Arab convention of anti-information technology crimes submitted by the committees of foreign relations, integrity, legal, services and construction, finance, culture and media.
- The second reading of the proposed law to cancel the resolution of the disbanded revolution command council No.(1559) of 1978 and No.(189) of 1978, submitted by the committee of health and environment.
- The Council completed the discussion of the draft law of Ministry of Foreign Affairs submitted by the committee of foreign affairs after finishing the second reading in the previous session.
- The first reading of the draft law on ratification of the convention on encouragement and protection of investment between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of Japan, submitted by the committees of foreign relations and economy and investment.
- The Presidency postponed the first reading for each of the draft laws of the Iraqi scientific compound and private universities and colleges submitted by the committees of high education and legal.
- The first reading of the draft law of establishment of private health institutions submitted by the committees of health and environment, and legal.
