The Council of Representatives held on 4/7/2013 the fifth session of the first legislative term for the fourth year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Attendance 257 MPs.
- The committee of health and environment read a statement on the terrorist acts that targeted a number of doctors in Baghdad.
- The Council voted in principle to refuse to continue legislating the draft law of Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works submitted by the committee of services and construction.
- Voting on the draft law on ratification of the convention on forming a joint committee for cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the State of Kuwait submitted by the committees of foreign relations, economy and investment, health and environment, culture and media.
- The Council voted to refuse the proposed law of the first amendment to the law of integrity commission No.(30) of 2011, submitted by the committees of integrity and legal.
- Voting on the draft law of doctors protection submitted by the committee of health and environment, in order to protect doctors from attacks and tribal claims, and to encourage migrant doctors outside of Iraq to return to the homeland and give them privileges to ensure their return.
- The Council hosted each of Mr. Hoshyar Zebari, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Hadi Al-Amiri, Minister of Transportation, in a general invitation to discuss the draft law on ratification of the convention on organization of the maritime navigation in Khowr Abd Allah between the government of republic of Iraq and the government of state of Kuwait and exiting from Chapter VII.
