The Council of Representatives held on 8/7/2013 the sixth session of the first legislative term for the fourth year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Attendance 247 MPs.
- Mr. Al-Nujaifi instructed the committee of security and defense to investigate the assault on MP Hussein Al-Mansouri by one of the officers of SWAT and strongly hold him accountable to prevent the recurrence of such cases.
- Voting on the membership confirmation of MP Thamer Ibrahim Dahir submitted by the legal committee.
- The Council voted on the draft law to unlink Dar Al-Nahrain for Printing from the Central Bank of Iraq and append it to the Ministry of Education submitted by the committees of education and finance.
- Voting on the draft law of sale and rent of State funds submitted by the committees of finance, legal, endowments and religious affairs, economy and investment.
- The committee of endowments and religious affairs recited a statement in which it congratulated the Iraqi people and the Islamic world and the religious authorities on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan calling on all the Iraqi people to unite and collaborate to confront extremism and violence and to show the true image of Islam.
- The committee of youth and sport recited a statement in which it congratulated the Iraqi people on the occasion of winning of the national team over South Korea team in the World Cup Finals for youth and qualified to the semi-final, calling for providing the full support and facilitating the travel of fans to Turkey to support the national team.
- The Council voted to allocate an additional billion dinars to compensate those affected by the floods in a number of provinces based on the recommendation of the parliamentary committee on this matter.
-The Presidency decided to postpone voting on the draft law of Federal Court to another session.
