The Council of Representatives held on 16/7/2013 the seventh session of the first legislative term for the fourth year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Attendance 229 MPs.
- The Presidency of the Council of Representatives congratulated the Iraqi people and the ladies and gentlemen members of the Council of Representatives on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
- MP Sheikh Khalid al-Attiyah thanked in the name of the National Alliance Dr. Qusay al-Suhail, First Speaker of the Council of Representatives, on the occasion of withdrawing the resignation and returning to practice his duties in serving Iraqi people.
- The Council voted on the proposed law of the first amendment to the law of service and retirement for the interior security forces No.(18) of 2011, submitted by the committees of security and defense, and legal for the purpose of equality of the civil employees in the interior security forces with their peers in the Ministry of Defense.
- The Presidency postponed the first reading of the proposed law to amend the law of Council of Representatives elections No.(16) of 2005, submitted by the legal committee to next Thursday in order to mature the proposed law.
- The first reading of the draft law on ratification of the convention on cooperation between the Governments of the Republic of Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the field of transferring sentenced to with sanctions of deprivation of liberty submitted by the committees of foreign relations, security and defense, legal.
- The first reading of the draft law on accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety submitted by the committees of foreign relations, health and environment, and legal.
- The first reading of the draft law on accession of the Republic of Iraq to the convention on prohibition or restriction of the use of certain conventional weapons which may be considered as excessively damage or indiscriminate effects and its Protocols which entered into force on 2/12/1983, submitted by the committees of foreign relations, security and defense, and legal.
- The Council voted in principle to continue reading the draft law of exemption of the Iraqi and foreign companies implementing investment projects from taxes and fees after finishing the first reading to the law submitted by the committees of finance, economy and investment, and legal.
- The second reading of the proposed law of the Union Council submitted by the committees of regions and provinces, and legal.
The session was adjourned until Thursday 18/7/2013. |
