The Council of Representatives held on 25/7/2013 the 11th session of the first legislative term for the fourth year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Attendance 242 MPs.
- The Council started the second reading of the proposed law to amend the law of the Council of Representatives elections No.(16) of 2005, submitted by the legal committee.
- The Council voted to approve the budget of Judicial Council submitted by the committee of finance.
- The investigative parliamentary committee on the situations in Diyala read a statement in which it condemned the terrorist acts and bombings that took place in Miqdadiya.
- The Council of Representatives voted on the recommendations of the investigative committee on the situations in Diyala. After that the Council read Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs.
- The Presidency decided to postpone discussing the reasons of the deterioration of the security situation in the provinces of Baghdad and Diyala with both governors, heads of the provincial council, leaders of the police and the leaders of operations in the two provinces to the next Saturday's session.
- The Council discussed a report on the reality of electricity based on a request signed by 74 MPs. Mr. Al-Nujaifi has invited Mr. Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Electricity and Deputies of Ministry of Electricity to continue discussing the reality of electricity in the next Saturday's session.
It was decided to adjourn the session until Saturday 27/7/2013. |
