on 15 \ 7 \ 2014 House of deputies held the second session/ third part of the first legislative term for the first year under the chairmanship of Mr. Mehdi al-Hafez in the presence of 273 deputies.
two deputies Mithal Al-Alosi and Mr.Khalaf Abdulsamad had sowrn in and the session was changed into secret for the nomination of President of the Council and his two deputies , then the council begun to vote for the president of the council and the candidates were only Mr.Saleem Al-Juboori and Ms. Shurooq Al-Abaji and the number of voters was 273 deputy , Mr.Saleem Al-Juboori got 194 votes and as for Ms.Shurooq Al-Abaiji they were 19 votes and there were 60 invalid card declaring the victory of Mr.Saleem al-Jubouri.
after the first deputy have been voted on,and the candidates were Mr. Haider Abadi for the National Coalition and Mr. Ahmed Chalabi and Mr.Faris Jeju for coalition Civic Democrats Mr. Haider Abadi got 149 votes, and Mr. Ahmad Chalabi got 107 votes and Mr. Faris Jeju got six voices and there were 12 invalid cards, and for not getting an absolute majority, which represents half the number of council members plus one President of the Council ; the council decided to re-vote on only two candidates.
And at the beginning of the voting Mr. Ahmed Chalabi announced his withdrawal for the position and thus continued to vote on Mr. Haider Abadi as the sole candidate and he received 188 votes out of 246
Then it was voted on the second deputy speaker of parliament and Mr. Aram Sheikh Mohammed got 171 votes out of 241
The chairman of the board invited the new president of the council and his two deputies to take their duties
and Mr. Saleem al-Jubouri thanked the new head of the council in a speech to members of the council for having confidence in him for the presidency of the Council and also the door was opened for nomination for the position of President of the Republic starting on Wednesday, 16 \ 7 \ 2014 for a period of three days
And then the session was adjourned to next Wednesday approved 23 \ 7 \ 2014 |
