On (10/10/2020), the House of Representatives held its eleventh session of the first legislative term for the third year, the fourth electoral cycle headed by Mr. Muhammad al-Halbousi and attended by (209) deputies, and the session included:
- Mr. Al-Halbousi’s reminder that next Monday, to host the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, to raise an oral question at the request of Representative Hoda Sajjad, pointing out that no request or bill for financial lending has reached the House of Representatives, calling on the government to expedite sending the financial reform paper In order to maximize state revenues and address the financial crisis.
- Representative Nabil Al-Tarfi recalled a statement that was read by the session on the anniversary of the martyrdom of former MP Saleh Al-Aqili who was assassinated by treachery in 2008, praising his cultural, academic and behavioral role and his love for the homeland.
- Members of the House of Representatives recited Surat Al-Fatiha as a tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and the deceased MP.
- To vote on the legal committee’s proposal, which states that "the distribution of the number of electoral districts in each governorate is equal to the number of seats allocated to the women's quota in the governorate.
Al-Halbousi instructed the General Secretariat of the Parliament to address urgently to all official bodies to reject the letter issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, which stipulates the establishment of coordination offices in the governorates that are affiliated with the High Authority for Coordination between the Governorates, as it is contrary to the provincial law
- The Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee clarified that the House of Representatives has no interest in delaying the payment of employees' salaries, indicating that the committee has not received any amendment to the borrowing law or the general budget law and is still awaiting receipt of the government reform paper that the Minister of Finance committed to.
- Deciding to keep the session open until agreement on a formula for completing the electoral districts of the Iraqi Parliament elections law.
