On (12/16/2020), the House of Representatives held its twenty-ninth session of the first legislative term for the third year, the fourth electoral cycle headed by First Deputy Hassan al-Kaabi and in the presence of (169) deputies, and the session included:
- First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Hassan Al Kaabi, recited a message from the President of the Republic in which he demanded that December 25, 2020 of every year be considered an official holiday for all Iraqis on the occasion of the birthdays of Christ (PBUH).
- To vote on a decision to consider December 25 as an official holiday for all Iraqis on the occasion of the birthdays of Jesus (peace be upon him).
- To vote on the draft law ratifying the amendments made in 1999 and 2003 to the agreement establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization signed in Stockholm in 1967 and submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
- Voting on the draft law ratifying the agreement to accelerate cooperation in the economic field and energy affairs between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Republic of South Korea submitted by the committees on foreign relations, oil, energy, natural resources, economics and investment.
Voting on the draft law on ratification of the United Nations Convention on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
- The second reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Convention on Civil Liability for Pollution Damage to Oil-Based Bunker Pollution of 2001 submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
- The first reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Protocol of 2005 related to the Protocol for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts directed against the safety of fixed platforms on the Continental Shelf for the year 1988 submitted by the Committee on Foreign Relations.
- The deputies' request to host the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives to discuss the files of national sovereignty and the American presence in Iraq in addition to the request to host the Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss the ministry's performance regarding its work in selecting ambassadors.
- Instructing Mr. Hassan Al-Kaabi to form a truth-finding committee consisting of Integrity and Labor Committees and civil society institutions to follow up on complaints of extortion by gangs trying to seize service spaces in the Haifa Street and Salhia complex.
After that, it was decided to raise the session to 12/17/2020
