On (29/05/2021), the House of Representatives held its first session of the second legislative term for the third year, the fourth electoral session headed by Mr. Muhammad Al-Halbousi, in the presence of (171). The session included:
- The Speaker of the Council directed to inform the Minister of Oil to host him in the House of Representatives in the next session to answer the questions put to him by the Integrity and Oil and Energy Committees.
- President Al-Halbousi notes that the Presidency of the House of Representatives will follow up with the Sectoral Parliamentary Committee to oblige the Ministry of Finance to implement the payment of farmers’ dues in full to implement the budget law for the year 2021
- The second reading of the proposal of the Law of the First Amendment to Law No. (76) of 2017, submitted by the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Immigration and Displaced Persons
-The interventions of the ladies and gentlemen of the representatives demanded the support of the Palestinian refugees residing in Iraq by proceeding to amend the proposed law to address the situation of the Palestinians and their human rights.
- Mr.Rasoul Radi Abu Hasna was sworn in instead of the late former deputy Adnan Al-Asadi.
- The council discussed the repeated Zionist attacks on the Palestinian Arab people.
- Part of it was chaired by the First Deputy, Mr. Hassan Al Kaabi
- Mr. Hassan Al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, indicated that the presidency of the Council was one of the first supporters of the Palestinian cause by condemning the brutal attack on the Palestinian people by sending a telegram to the Arab Parliament and inviting it to hold an emergency meeting that was held virtually, as well as participating in the meeting of the Palestine Committee of The Union of Member Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held in the Iranian capital in support of the Palestinian cause, in addition to calling on the International Parliament to convene to denounce this brutal aggression.
-The second reading of the draft Social Security and Retirement Law for Workers, submitted by the Committees for Labor, Social Affairs, Immigration and Displaced Persons, and the Financial and Legal Committees.
- The interventions of the ladies and gentlemen of the representatives included the importance of legislating the law to support the private sector, demanding the addition of an article to grant authority to the Social Security Department to secure the health aspect of the private sector and reduce the lives of those covered by women and men, as well as obligating factories to have health insurance for workers.
- Then it was decided to adjourn the session to next Tuesday 1/6/2021
