The Council of Representatives held its sixth session of the first legislative term of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, chaired by Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, First Deputy Speaker of the Council, today Monday, 14/4/2025, in the presence of (178) deputies. The session included:
-Voting on several special ranks, including Mr. Ali Razouqi, Deputy Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr. Abdul Hamza Hadi, Adviser to the Minister of Electricity, and Mr. Sami Al-Masoudi, Chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Authority.
-Voting on the draft law to establish Halabja Governorate in the Republic of Iraq, submitted by the Committees on Regions and Non-Regional Provinces and the Legal Committee.
-The first reading of the proposed law for the first amendment to the Ministry of Education Law No. (22) of 2011.
The Council of Representatives held its fifth session of the first legislative term of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, chaired by Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the Council, today Monday, 24/3/2025, in the presence of (170) deputies. It should be noted that for the fifteenth time in this electoral cycle, the Council announced the names of attendees. The session included the following:
-Mr. Ahmed Al-Masari took the constitutional oath to assume membership in the Council, replacing Deputy Ahmed Al-Mashhadani.
-The postponement of the vote on the draft law for the fourth amendment to the Industrial Investment Law for the private and mixed sectors, No. (20) of 1998, submitted by the Parliamentary Committees on Economy, Industry and Trade, and Investment and Development.
-The first reading of the draft law of the Popular Mobilization Authority, submitted by the Security and Defense Committee.
-The first reading of the draft law to repeal the law ratifying the agreement on exempting holders of diplomatic and service passports from entry visas between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, No. (26) of 2023, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
-The second reading of the proposed law for the fourth amendment to the Law on the Gradation of Medical and Health Professions No. (6) of 2000, submitted by the Health and Environment Committee.
Fourth Session 2025-02-02 The House of Representatives holds its fourth session of the first legislative term of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, First Vice- Speaker of the House, on Sunday 2/2/2025, in the presence of (176) Representatives, and the session included
- Voting on the draft law on the first amendment to the Federal Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years (2023, 2024, 2025) No. (13) of 2023 submitted by the Finance Committee.- Mr. Ayman Salah Hammoud is sworn in as a member of the House in place of the deceased MP Mustafa Ahmed Al-Arsan, according to the letter of the Independent Electoral High Commission.- The second reading of the proposed law on private higher education submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee.
The House of Representatives held its third session of the first semester of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the House, on Tuesday 21/1/2025, which included the following:
-Overall voting on the proposal to amend the Personal Status Law No. 188 of 1959 submitted by the Legal Committees and Women, Family and Childhood.
-Overall voting on the draft law on the restitution of real estate to its owners covered by some decisions of the Revolutionary Command Council (dissolved) submitted by the Legal Committee.
-Overall voting on the draft law amending the second amendment to the General Amnesty Law No. 27 of 2016 submitted by the legal, security and defense, and human rights committees.
The House of Representatives holds its second session of the first legislative term of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral session under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on Sunday 19/1/2025, in the presence of (167) Representatives, and the session included:
-Vote on the draft law of the National Intelligence Service, submitted by the Security and Defense Committee.
-The first reading of the draft law regulating service wages in centrally funded state departments and its follow-up submitted by the Services and Reconstruction Committee.
-Completion of the first reading of the proposed law on the first amendment to the Federal Import Allocation Control Authority Law No. (55) of 2017 submitted by the Finance Committee.
-First reading of the draft law regulating minority rights and preventing discrimination submitted by the Human Rights Committee.
