On (15/10/2023), the House of Representatives held its twenty-second session of the second legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the session included:
- Voting on the draft law of the National Authority for Nuclear, Radiation, Chemical and Biological Regulation submitted by the Health, Environment and Higher Education and Scientific Research Committees.
- Voting on the decisions to discuss the brutal bombardment of the Gaza Strip and the siege imposed on it, which stipulate, condemning the policy of the usurping Zionist entity in killing, displacing and demolishing homes and affirming the right of Palestinians to defend their land and their usurped rights, we call on the Iraqi government to take all measures to support and relief the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, and to call on the sisterly Arab parliaments to convene an emergency session of the Union of Arab Parliaments in Baghdad to take a position consistent with the will of the Arab peoples, and to call on the United Nations to act immediately on Opening outlets for the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, calling on the Security Council to assume its responsibility by taking the necessary measures to stop the escalation, killing and displacement against the Palestinian people, opening official outlets for governmental and non-governmental donations and contributions to support the Palestinian people, and affirming Iraq's firm and supportive position on the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state and full sovereignty over their lands.
