On (22/11/2023), the House of Representatives held its extraordinary session of the second legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, in the presence of (180) representatives, and the session included:

- Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi began the session by reading Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of the security forces who fell at dawn on Wednesday.

- In a statement, the House condemned in the strongest terms the US attacks that targeted the members of the security forces of PMF, which led to the martyrdom and serious injury of a number of them, calling on the Iraqi government to implement the decision of the House of Representatives to remove US forces from Iraq.

- Voting on postponing the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives until a political balance is achieved, and based on Article 12/III of the Rules of Procedure, in addition to the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, which requires the House of Representatives to continue performing its duties with the Vice-Speaker assuming the presidency of the sessions of the House.

- Voting on the proposed law on the first amendment to the Independent High Electoral Commission Law No. (31) of 2019 submitted by the Legal Committee.

After that, it was decided to adjourn the session.
