On (30/1/2024), the House of Representatives held its fourth session of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the First Vice-Speaker Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (167) representatives, and the session included:
-Voting on the draft law on legal aid in its entirety submitted by the legal and human rights committees.
-Voting on the draft law ratifying an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia on air services between their regions and on the draft law ratifying the maritime transport agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the request of the Foreign Relations Committee on the two laws;
-Vote on postponing the interpellating of the head of the Iraqi Media Network, submitted by representative Raed al-Maliki, to next week to allow the interrogated Representative to add new questions and give the head of the network enough time to prepare answers.
-Mr. Burhan Nasser Mohammed Al-Nimrawi is sworn in as a replacement of Mr. Mohammed Rikan Al-Halbousi.

-First reading of the draft law repealing decision No. 20 of 2003 of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council submitted by the Legal Committee, given that the decision violates the provisions of article 19 of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005;
-First reading of the draft law on the repeal of Revolutionary Command Council resolutions No. 175 of 1974 and 4 of 2003, submitted by the Legal Committee
-The second reading of the draft law amending the Narcotics Law No. (50) of 2017 submitted by the Health and Environment, Security and Defense, and Legal Committees, and the Interim Committee for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
-The interventions of the ladies and gentlemen of Representatives focused on the importance of amending the law in light of the serious challenge of confronting the scourge of drugs at the present time, adding representation to the National Security Advisory and the Iraqi Media Network in the Anti-Drug Commission, supporting the government and private sectors to treat drug addicts, obliging the Ministries of Health and Labor to open centers for the treatment of addicts, and demanding to reduce the number of members of the Commission and enable the security forces to address this dangerous matter.
-The second reading of the draft law amending the first law of the Iraqi Supreme Maritime Authority Law No. (18) of 2018, submitted by the Transport and Communications Committee.
