On  (2024/2/27) , the House of Representatives held its twelfth session of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the Representative Shakhwan Abdullah, and the session included:

- Representative Hassan Salem read a statement on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the popular uprising, recalling the heroism of the Iraqi people to express their free will and stand in the face of the tyrannical and dictatorial regime, referring to the crimes committed by the criminal Baath Party regime against the Iraqi people in several provinces using lethal and forbidden weapons, pointing out that the uprising triumphed with the fall of the Baathist regime and the victory achieved by the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces over the terrorist gangs of ISIS, concluding the statement by reading Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs.

 -Voting on Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network members to stop their duties and only  start after voting on them in the House of Representatives.

- the Vice-Speaker of the House , Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, directing  to include the issue of withdrawing confidence from the head of the Iraqi Media Network in the next session based on a parliamentary request accompanied by the signatures of 50 Representatives.

- First reading of the draft law on securities and commodities, submitted by the Finance Committee.

- Second reading of the draft law amending the Penal Code No. 111 of  1969 submitted by the Legal Committee.

-Ladies and gentlemen  of the Representatives demanded in their remarks to  add an amendment to other articles in the Penal Code, especially those related to electronic crime and crimes that need provisions, and to demand the development of a legal text that defines the meaning of extortion and its inclusion in penalties and to address the immunity of the Representative in misdemeanors and felony in terms of expressing opinion, in addition to determining the insult of parents and detailing the state of hostility between father and son.

-The first reading of the proposed law of the Iraqi Programmers Syndicate, submitted by the Labor Committee and civil society organizations after adding it to the agenda of the session.

- The interventions of the ladies and gentlemen of the Representatives focused on demanding an increase in financial allocations for the implementation of Article 140, demanding an increase in the retirement salary of officers and employees of the Ministry of Interior, demanding an approach to the executive authority about the reason for withdrawing a number of draft laws related to the general interest of the people, inquiring about the delay in paying the salaries of employees of the Kurdistan region by the federal and regional governments, calling for a review of the investment corporation's projects to meet the aspirations of the Iraqi people and the advancement of the agricultural and industrial sectors, and knowing the reasons for the delay in the services provided in the districts of Karbala governorate, in addition to following up the level of services provided in the governorates of the Middle Euphrates, as well as demanding monitoring the work of the currency auction and hosting those concerned to find solutions to reduce wasted funds, following up on the distribution of general budget revenues to the governorates in a fair manner and sending the 2024 budget tables to the House of Representatives for a vote
