 On (21/7/2024), the House of Representatives held its second session of the second legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the first vice speaker Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (181) representatives, and the session included:

 

-the representative Faleh Al-Khazali read a statement commemorating the martyrdom of the master of martyrs, Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, who sacrificed himself in order to achieve the truth and became a revolutionary approach and an appreciated status for all human beings of all religions, calling for spreading the values of tolerance and brotherhood in the name of Imam Hussein, recalling the role of martyrs in the fields of victory and martyrdom.

-A number of ladies and gentlemen of representatives read a statement condemning the ban imposed on Sulaymaniyah International Airport by the State of Turkey and the closure of its airspace, which led to the suspension of passenger traffic and the damage to citizens, calling on the federal government and the concerned parliamentary authorities to take serious steps to end the sanctions imposed on Sulaymaniyah Airport and to form a specialized committee to follow up on the matter.

-First reading of the draft law on the reform of economic laws submitted by the committees of economy, industry and trade, investment and development, legal and finance.

-First reading of the proposed law on the first amendment to the National Authority for Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical and Biological Regulation Law No. (1) of 2024 submitted by the Health and Environment Committee.

 

Part of the session was chaired  by Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, Vice-Speaker of the house

-First reading of the draft Islamic Investment Law submitted by the Finance, Legal, Investment and Development Committees.

-Postponing the second reading of thedraft law on compensation for the property of those affected by the former regime submitted by the Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners.
