On (8/11/2022), the House of Representatives held Its ninth session of the second legislative term of the first legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mohammed Al-Halbousi in the presence of (202) representatives and it included:
-The House began the session by approving the expansion of its second legislative term for one month to complete Its functions in accordance to Article 58-second of the Iraqi Constitution.
-Speaker Al-Halbousi directed to discuss the request submitted by representative Hassan Salem to take the decision to expand the exemption of foodstuffs from tax and customs with the Economy, Finance and Agriculture Committees to prepare the necessary wording to be vote on. -Second reading of the draft law on the National Day of the Republic of Iraq submitted by the Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media.
-The Interventions of the ladies and gentlemen of the house of representatives focused on the draft law on choosing a national day on which the majority of Iraqis agree and the need to determine a national day for Iraq like the countries of the world.
-The Speaker of the House called on the concerned committee to continue working with other House committees and the government to proceed with the legislation of the law

-The second reading of the draft law on the first amendment to the Law on Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs No. (13) of 2013, submitted by labor committees, civil society organizations, women, family, childhood, legal, martyrs and victims.
-Some of the interventions of ladies and gentlemen of the representatives confirmed the importance of excluding applicants to studies from the age and rate condition, allocating plots of land In the governorates for people with disabilities and special needs, granting the disabled person a fixed salary, forming a special authority concerned with people with disabilities similar to developed countries due the presence of more than three million people with disabilities, and stressed the demands that the proposed law take Into account the international laws and find harmony between them to benefit from supporting international grants, and modify salaries and rehabilitate those covered by the persons with disabilities through the opening special rehabilitation centers.
-Second reading of the draft law on social security and retirement for workers submitted by the Finance and Labor Committees and civil society and legal organizations.
-The demands of the ladies and gentlemen of the representatives focused on the importance of enacting the law because of the interest it will provide to workers in the private sector, reducing the burden on the applying for work in the public sector and demanding that the minimum retirement be set at fifteen years and at the age of 45 for the Individual and that his pension should not be less than the salary covered by the Unified Retirement Law .
-Speaker Al- Halbousi called for the continuation of the House committees concerned with the draft law with Its legislative procedures and its maturation in a way that meets the requirements of citizens
Number of ladies and gentlemen of the representatives demanding to consider the government decision on the distribution of land in Kirkuk governorate, convert all lecturers Into contracts, include them In resolution 315, demand compensation for the children of the Yazidi component, both in the field of government representation and material support for the victims of the terrorist organization ISIS and demand the facilitation of security audit procedures In Nineveh governorate, handling the administrative situation of the Sahwat and their equality with their peers In the security and service institution, and handling the situations resulting from the House of Ministers Resolution No. 280 of 2020, especially in Babylon governorate.
-The Speaker of the House announced the allocating the next session to host the Ministers of Agriculture and Water Resources to discuss the agricultural plan and water scarcity in the country.
