On (15/4/2023), the House of Representatives held its nineteenth session of the first legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the session included:

-Voting on the draft law on the management of genetic resources, submitted by the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes.

-Postponing the vote on the draft law on the first amendment to the Law on the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs No. (38) of 2013, submitted by the labor committees and civil society organizations, legal, women, family and childhood, martyrs, victims and prisoners, and human rights.

-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Muhammad Al-Halbousi, directed the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee to conduct a visit to the province of Babylon to find out the damage caused by the rainfall, which caused the almost complete disruption of life, and to submit a detailed report and submit it to the Presidency of the House.

-The Committee of Martyrs and Political Prisoners and a number of ladies and gentlemen representatives read a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the execution of Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (God sanctified his secret), and the anniversary of the notorious crime of Anfal, in which they recalled the crime of the Baath and its tyrant Saddam by executing the martyr al-Sadr and his sister Alawiyyah bint al-Huda, and the crime of genocide against the Kurdish people practiced by the fascist Baath regime against unarmed civilians, including women, children and the elderly.

Which was chaired by the Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakha Wan Abdullah,

-The first reading of the draft law on the second amendment to the law of the Ministry of Labourand Social Affairs, submitted by the Labor Committee and civil society organizations.

Then, it was decided to adjourn the session until Sunday evening.
