On (3/8/2023), the House of Representatives held its seventh session of the second legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by Muhammad Al-Halbousi, in the presence of (196) representatives, and the session included:
-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Muhammad Al-Halbousi, appreciated the activation of the oversight role played by the House by submitting oral questions addressed by representatives Hadi Al-Salami and Hussein Al-Sabri to the Ministers of Finance and Interior, separately, to answer them, as he directed to set a session for Saturday, 12/8/2023, as a date for hosting.
-The Speaker of the House directed the General Secretariat of the House to complete the legal procedures regarding setting a date for the questioning of the Minister of Education, and to inform the Minister of the date.
-The House read a statement on the ninth anniversary of the crime committed by ISIS against the Yazidi component and the genocide they were subjected to, and demanded the need to normalize the situation in Sinjar, return the displaced, remove irregular forces, rebuild and legislate the law on the extermination of the Yazidis, as well as recall the crimes of the Speicher massacre against innocent Shabak components and Christians, which left a wound in the hearts of Iraqis

-The Interventions of the ladies and gentlemen of the representatives focused on the reasons for the delay in compensating patients with immunodeficiency and disbursing a monthly grant to them for the damage they suffered as a result of contaminated medicines caused by the French manufacturer in the eighties of the last century, and stressing the need to determine the number of infected people covered by compensation, with the possibility of compensating the owners of other diseases for specific categories.
-Second reading of the draft law amending the ninth law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 40 of 1988, submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee.
-The interventions witnessed the need to expand the amendments to the law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which need to be reconsidered in the interest of the educational process and the preparation of research, as well as setting conditions and a mechanism for selecting university leaders, finding a clear vision for a sober scientific system, and publishing all regulations in the Iraqi Gazette
